    Front-Wheel Weights for Farmall A/Super A: Compatible?

We ordered a set of weights, but luckily his pasturage of 8 acres is flat as a board. He should be fine. I personally only use old equipment without ROPS for the lightest of duties, such as finish mowing, on flat ground. I like my ROPS and seat belt on the hills.

    cleaning tires for show

I'll second the remarks about Miller Tire's Tractor-Tire Paint. Made my old JD M's tires look really nice. I only mow with it, and it has held up well after a few weeks' use.

    Front-Wheel Weights for Farmall A/Super A: Compatible?

Bryce, I'll let you know. I've a bid in on a set. Shipping is reasonable too. If I lose that auction, I'll be in touch.

    Front-Wheel Weights for Farmall A/Super A: Compatible?

Sorry lads, but I DO worry about "wheelies" since I had a father-in-law in a coma for six weeks after an accident. And he had 50+ years of experience on tractors. I am buying my friend a set as a gift, and I'll show him how to fill his tires with antifreeze too. Thanks for all the other...

    Front-Wheel Weights for Farmall A/Super A: Compatible?

We are trying to save the life of a very new tractor owner. He bought a used Super A for his place and is plowing with it. He reported, idly, "wheelies" on Facebook. My wife and I insisted that 1) he check his plow and choice of throttle and gear and 2) get front-wheel weights. We are buying...

How can farmers justify to purchase new tractors ?

I'm a "Little Player" who will be market-gardening in retirement. But we purchased a new utility tractor when we were new to this all. We lacked experience and mechanical skills. Now I can fix old equipment, and the old stuff (also tractors in the 25-60 hp range) goes out to work more than it...

John Deere M suddenly develops "issue" with fuel s

Update: it runs great. I put a standpipe above the sediment bowl (which now feeds fuel normally). Reinstalled the carb, setting idle screw and load needle to specs recommended by JD. Started RIGHT up and ran great off fresh gas in the tank. Let it run about 10 minutes, shut it down, checked...

John Deere M suddenly develops "issue" with fuel s

Good idea about the condenser and cap. Both are old. I inspected them and all "looks" fine, but we know how that goes. The spark-plug wires are 2 years old. It blows no black smoke other than a bit when starting. Then it idles well until it quits.

John Deere M suddenly develops "issue" with fuel s

Fuel line was clear (it's new line, but I put cleaner through it and blew air through to confirm) and the fuel flow out of the tank into the sediment bowl was good once I removed the fuel line from the carb. Then I found a problem. It may be THE problem. At the elbow where the fuel line...

John Deere M suddenly develops "issue" with fuel s

Over the past several months, I restored a John Deere M wide-front that my father-in-law bought new. Last week, I mowed a couple of acres with it using a Woods belly mower that this tractor has had used since the 70s. It ran great then, as it did when I started it various times during...
