    A week ago, I posted a thread about an M Farmall I'd bought on an auction that would run fine when pulling, but ran rough under no load or light load conditions. It also smelled of stale gasoline. I put fresh gas in it, boiled the carb and put a kit in it, serviced the air cleaner, etc...

    720D main engine crankshaft alignment

    I have been given a procedure that involves slowly and evenly bringing all three main bearing covers up to torque. While using a block of wood and sledge hammer, drive the crank left then right several times. I did this and it seem to work, when completed the crank would roll the counter weight...

    Its not very likely that stuff would last 258,000 miles.Probably was replaced several times.They might just have put back on what was original,maybe even went to Chevrolet to get the parts.Maybe had Chevy mechanics work on it.It would probably be a miracle if that stuff lasted 100,000 miles...
