    6.4 hemi vs diesel.Need opinions

My Dad bought a new 6.4 hemi in 2015. Best towing gas truck I've ever seen. Transmission has been great too. Gets 20mpg on long trips with no trailer. We took it from MD to OH in January to pick up my 706, towed great the whole way home, about ran about 80-85 the whole way. Dropped to a little...

    Tractor Upgrade

Thanks for the input so far. I do know they are a little ways apart as far as age and hp, but they are both plenty big enough to do what I need. Here are my thoughts so far. I like power shift, as I have run power shift tractors before, I also like that the Case is a little newer. I like the...

    Tractor Upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my Farmall 460 to something newer and bigger. I think I have the 460 sold, so I will be upgrading soon. I am currently looking at a Case 1070 power shift and a IH 806 diesel. I don't really have any experience with either tractor, so I'm looking for some advice and pros...

    Kuhn Discbine

I may be going this weekend to take a look at a Kuhn FC300G discbine. Does anyone have any experience with these, or know any common problems to look for? Also, just how small of a tractor should be able to run it?

New Holland 848 Round Baler Questions

I have picked up a lot of acreage this year, so I'm thinking about round baling some of it. I found a nice 848 a couple hours away for a really good price. I know it is supposed to make a 4x5 bale, but I know most 4x5 balers are capable of making a 4x4. Will this baler do that? Also, what tying...

    Tiltbed or Dovetail w/ramps???

One more thing to think about is that most of these old tractors don't have the greatest brakes. When driving up on to a hydraulic tilt trailer, that could be an issue. Usually you can get stopped with no problem once you get on to a flat trailer with a dovetail.

    Cub no-start

I have a Cub I picked up at auction recently, not running. It gets good blue spark, and spark timing is good. It has good compression. At one point, I did have it running. Now, it will not start, still have good compression and spark. That leads me to believe it is a fuel issue. Even when I...

    Wow.....

I know everyone has a different way of dealing with this, but I do not wave anyone around. If you wave someone around, and something happens to them, whether it be run off the road or into an oncoming car you didn't notice, you can then be held liable because you gave them the all-clear signal...

    WD Allis vs 300 farmall

As someone who owns both a WD and a 300, I feel somewhat qualified to answer this question. I will start off by saying I haven't run the WD as much, since I haven't had it as long. Also, I'm a Farmall guy, so I'm a little biased. The 300 has power steering, the WD, not so much. The 300 has a...

    Spark but no fire

Ok, I determined the flywheel key was the problem. I got it running with a new one, but it sheared also, and tried another with the same result. What could be causing this?

    Spark but no fire

Had the head off and checked valves-no problem there. Also I am getting a strong blue spark from the current plug. No sheared key either. I did get it to fire once earlier in the day, but only once.

    Spark but no fire

I am working on a 1979 Power King with a 16hp briggs on it. It ran fine until the coil went out. I replaced the coil, and found that the push rod wasn't pushing the points open properly, so I replaced that as well. Now, it seems to be getting strong spark, but it just won't run. Checked the...

    Farmall H Hydraulics

Thanks for the info. He would probably just be adding a three point hitch, or if I added the two-way valve, he could run the haybine.

    Farmall H Hydraulics

I am looking at buying a Farmall H as a gift for my father. I would like to know how difficult it is and what is involved in adding hydraulic outlets to an H. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Won't Stay Running

Final Update. It is running, I put hydraulic oil in it, and the lift works just fine now. It's now ready for hay, too bad I finished it a week and a half after second cutting. Thanks for all the help.
