    help need carb parts

I have had great luck with Denny's. Great to deal with and they have everything I have ever needed. I have used quite a few Steiner kits but when I need a single gasket or part I go to Denny's. http://www.external_link.com/ Not trying to send business away from this great site, I have donated...

    strange request

I have a 48 H and I enjoy cigars. I am making a cigar stand/ash tray for my shop and I want a worn out H piston to use as either the lighter/cutter holder or the ash tray. I want to incorporate other parts as well. If you have a worn out piston you will part with let me know. Thanks

    Re:surging 48 H

I posted about my H surging recently. I got a lot of good advice, as I always do here. You were right about a lean condition. When I went to take off the carb the rear manifold bolt was loose. I have not had the carb off in over a year so I guess it got looser over time. I will crank it this...

    H steering wheel

What type of steering wheel would my 1948 H had originally? It has a plastic covered one now. Also would it have had a cast gearshift knob?

    surging 48 H

My H is surging. It seems like it is starving for fuel, I adjusted the main jet to no effect. I am going in the carb this afternoon. I adjusted the Governor as per the manual, with the pin free etc. last year and it has run great since. If I go back in the governor what should I look for as far...

    help locating rafters

Thanks a lot. I think I will brace between rafters and then bolt to that. Probably use screws to fasten the braces between the rafters. I would think this would share the load and be firmer as well.

    help locating rafters

I am no carpenter, I spend my time on the farmall forum so I need some advice. I need to hang a porch swing for my wife under the carport. How do I locate the rafters under the plywood? I know I need to go right in the thick of the rafter to support the weight. Thanks for any advice. This may...

    Tractors that proved themselves/and didn't

I know the Ford, not the one made by Henry, is the tractor that started the Nebraska Tests. Some guys patented the Ford name before Henry could do so and they were terrible. That is why his first attempts were called Fordsons. From R.B. Gray- The Agricultural Tractor 1855 to 1950. Wonderful Book

    Tractor Mac books

I love them and so do my little boys. I have a 48 H and my name is Mac Tucker so my boy thinks it is about our tractor. I emailed the author and found out he owns a Cub. They are wonderful books even for adults... Who does not love Sam the ram, Sibley the horse Carla the chicken, and Margo the...

    H carb adjustment

Will the main jet out of adjustment make the engine hunt or must it be the governor. My H goes brrrr, brrr, brrrr. All looks good in the governor, and it is adjusted per the service manual.

    For those who like tools

Very cool, sure beats a brass drift and a hammer. Is it rechargeable, or do you have to plug it in?

    just curious

Thanks for the advice. I may adjust the valves just to be sure. I do not imagine it is difficult.
