    Unstyled B PTO Shield

The correct PTO cover for an unstyled B is A1242R. This cover was used from 1936 through unstyled and early styled production (1935 Bs used an open end cover). Later Bs used an oil seal setup that replaced the original PTO packing setup and used the later AA2297 sheld .

    JD B overdrive

Yes would be best to sell the whole tractor and let someone else remove it if all they really want is the overdrive. In my opinion the overdrive should make the tractor sell for a premium but you never know.

    1936 unstyled B newbie question

Plain water is more efficient at cooling than antifreeze. An engine cooled with water will run cooler than one with antifreeze.

    JD B overdrive

Yes it is worth keeping. If you are looking to just save the overdrive it is quite labor intensive to remove. You have to take pulley, flywheel, first reduction gear cover, and transmission cover off and pull both shafts out of the transmission. Not at all impossible but it is a job to remove.

Unstyled B front axle thread size

Thank you! I think my problem was I was measuring the nut and not the spindle. Spindle threads measure out at 3/4" UNF. Appreciate the help.

Unstyled B front axle thread size

That is correct. That is where the larger bearing cap without the large JD cast into it started to be used. There is more clearance under this cap for the new axle nut. The threads themselves, however, remained the same size. I need that thread size so I can order a plain slotted nut to fit...

Unstyled B front axle thread size

Can someone tell me the thread size of an unstyled B front axle? I am putting on a bearing cap with the JD cast into it and thr standard front axle nut won't work with this cap. Best I can tell is it is 11/16 but having trouble figuring out the threads per inch. Apparently 11/16 fine thread...

It may take you a couple of years of diligent searching to find the wheels you are looking for but that will still be quicker than having Pat Detwiler cut down your steel wheels.

    Small pedals for rockshaft

The early power lifts had the smaller pedals as well as a different valve body assembly (A636R) and had B463R cast into the main housing. About early 37 they switched over to the larger pedal lift with valve body A1430R. Early larger pedal lifts had a B875R casting number and later large...
