How Tight Should Square Baler Chains Be?

So I posted a picture last week of a New Holland Super 69 I bought and I have been going over it top to bottom. One thing the manual doesn't actually say is how tight all of the roller chains should be? The only spec it gives pertaining to chains is on the tine drive. Says you should have 5/8"...

    Bought A Baler Today

I bought this baler today after looking for a while for a good one that wasn't hours away. Just got her home and will be greasing it and going over it in the days to come. Anything specific I should know/do? It's a Super Hayliner 69. I had the guy demo it on his property and watched it feed hay...

New Holland 268 Baler on Craigslist

I am probably going to go look at it tomorrow. I asked the guy if I brought some bales with me if we could demo it and he said sure thing. The only problem now is getting it home 2 hours away. I can make a double trip and get it at another time using my farmer friends rollback. I just don't know...

New Holland 268 Baler on Craigslist

I am looking to make my own hay next year (orchard grass mix) instead of renting out my field. It is about 10 acres. Already have the tractor....International B-275 Diesel. Anyways, I am currently searching Craigslist now to obtain everything I need and found this baler. It looks to be pretty...

Plugging Table Saw Into 50 Amp Welder Receptacle

Just an update. I called a local electrician for our town and he came out and looked at my situation today. He is going to put a new circuit in just for the saw and put the receptacle closer to where I will be using the saw. I'm supplying the 12/2 wire and he's doing everything else (breaker...

Plugging Table Saw Into 50 Amp Welder Receptacle

How would you suggest doing it utilizing the 50 amp service to the welder? I am thinking take out the receptacle, put a small box in, and come off that with what I need for the welder and what I need for the saw. Either way, I am still going to need about a 25' extension cord for the saw.

Plugging Table Saw Into 50 Amp Welder Receptacle

I currently have a 50 amp circuit in my shop (with correct associated wiring) that I use to power my welder. I am buying a 220v table saw and would like to plug it into the same receptacle as the welder. My plan was to make an extension cord (since I need one anyways) with one end matching the...

    Diesel Engine Temperature

I have a '60 B-275 Diesel that my grandfather used regularly and I revived it from sitting 8 years (he died). I've done all maintenance on tractor (oil, filters, etc) and have been running it and using it for about 6 months with no problems whatsoever. The temp gauge has not worked for a long...

    B-275 Oil Pressure

I noticed yesterday while plowing snow that my oil pressure appeared low. It would run on the line between Red and White at fast RPM and in the red while idling. Usually it would run midway in the white area. However, I haven't used this tractor a whole lot since I rescued it so I don't know...

    Hein-Werner Air Jack

I recently inherited a Hein-Werner Air Jack from a family member who has been a mechanic since the 50's. Does anyone know anything about these jacks? I haven't really used it as of yet. It seems to be built pretty good.

    IH B375

They are great tractors. I have one. I consider it pretty advanced for the year (1960) with Live PTO, Live Hydraulics, and 2 speed rear end giving you 8 forward gears and 2 reverse. I got my glow plugs working for about $20. All I had to do was order 4 of the plugs off ebay. Now I can start the...
