Cockshutt made 550 slow hydraulics problem

If there are any quick couplers (aka: quick connects) on the loader's hydraulic lines (usually located where it fastens to the tractor hydraulics), I have had flow restricted and slow loader response due to the ball pressure changing over time due to oil flow. It is an easy check to unscrew...

    E4 no start, I'm stumped.

Had a similar issue with my E3. Replacing the condenser fixed the problem.

9N Starter will not come out

Hi there I am new here and new to tractor restoration in general so please be gentle with me :) I am having trouble searching for any previous answers to this question so I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else that I cannot locate. I have a '47 9N that I am trying to get the...

    My latest acquisition part one

Pastor John gifted me a set of fire stones for my DC -4, so I ran her down to the tire store for a refit. It’s a good thing I did, because they had to needle gun the old inner tubes off the inside of the rim. I also decided to rebuild the seat suspension, as when I picked her up the pin was worn...

    Cockshutt 550

On my former 570 gas and now the Super, I sometimes have that loud gear noise in the hydraulics on a cold startup. I have found that shutting the tractor off and restarting eliminates the issue. My guess is that perhaps the hydraulic pump is not initially primed with oil after setting for some...

    Cockshutt 550

Do you you have an Oliver made Cockshutt 550 with 28" rear wheels or a Cockshutt made 550 that has 38" rear wheels? The model number 550 is the same, but these are completely two different manufacturers.

    Oliver 1750 diesel pros cons

Agree with rrlund and others regarding the 1700 series. I still farm with a 1755 310 diesel that was purchased used in early 2000s that has not been rebuilt or upgraded. Have had no problems other than needing to put new seals in the fuel pump due to diesel getting into the engine oil. chas036...

    Is it a Cockshutt or a Co-op

Agree with other comments that this is a CO-OP E3 and it appears to be mostly original with usable rear wheels and tin. Per other recommendations, purchasing a second 30 or E3 with a running engine and rear fenders will be far more cost effective than rebuilding the original engine, and they are...

    1855 hydraulic in the transmission

I am having a similar problem with a 1755. Which of the three sources provided is most likely the cause? And, what work is involved with repairing each of these?

    Cockshutt 30 issue

Suggestions for improvement on engine wiring may be correct, but the symptoms you describe point to a clutch problem.

    Fuel cap....

Got a 640 Ford an it definitely has the wrong cap on it. It’s a diesel fuel cap and it doesn’t screw down tight an rattles....makes a LOT of noise! This is for a 134 engine, does it require a vented or a non vented cap? Don’t wanna order the wrong one. TIA

    Been Awhile

Been a while since I've checked in here. I've been going overtime almost every day the past three weeks with spring work. Finally got to the 99% done mark this evening and there is rain forecast. Have not even had time to drive the Merc or fly the drone. My nephew got a bunch of video and pics...

    4500 Injection Pump Issue

I recently picked up a 4500 with a no start issue and it's got me stumped. Story from the previous owner is that it would run fine, always started, never had any problems and then on time after it sat for a year or so it wouldn't start. He fiddled with some things then got busy and gave up...

new holland 855 baler tailgate latch

Hello all New to this forum though I've gotten some great advice in the past from you folks. My issue is after I have made several bales my tailgate latch starts to fail to unlatch. I first thought it was an adjustment issue so I adjusted it per the manuals instruction a few times. It would...
