    I have heard that you can use the chain off of a newer model of JD dozer. I can't remember which model, but I have a friend that knows. If i see him I'll ask.

    does anyone know of a way to date a HG42 through the engine casting numbers or the engine serial number? my crawler is missing the serial plate and i am trying to figure out the year for it.

    The id tag on the dash panel says 130 on it, but for all i know someone just put 130 sheet metal on it.

    The badge does spell out INTERNATIONAL. Is there a source for casting dates for the block, frame, etc anywhere? The engine appears to have been originally painted yellow and has a distributor ignition not a magneto.

    It does have the foot throttle, but 17 inch wheels. The badge spells International, not the IH one.

    I picked up a w4 not that long ago and am finally getting around to working on it. The serial tag is missing and I was wondering if there was any other way to date it. The grill has International badging on it and all the other pics of these i"ve seen have McCormick badges.
