    Alternative to sodium chloride

Hello, Our old tractor's rear tires are currently filled with sodium chloride. We'd like to remove this and replace it with a non-corrosive mixture that won't freeze. Can anyone direct me to an alternative?

    refrigerator leaking water

You might check the coil in the back. Ice can build up and then the heat of the motor will cause it to melt. You'll have to remove the back cover to check but if you do and it is iced up, use a blow dryer to melt the ice.

    Buck knife warranty

I have a Buck as well and it truly is a great tool. One problem I have had is that it seems difficult to put a good edge on it because the steel is so hard. How do you folks sharpen yours?

    Air cooled engines and heat

Hello, I have a Deutz with an air cooled engine. I plan to brush hog this weekend but temps are forecasted to be in the upper 90's approaching 100. This tractor is an old 5506 and most of the indicator lights are inop. How can I prevent overheating the engine?

    OFF TOPIC: storing eggs

A good friend of mine was part of the crew of a sailing vessel that went around the world. I said they took along eggs even though they had no way to refrigerate them. He said the covered the shells with Vaseline and as long as they were not exposed to air, the kept just fine.

Howdy, I have a Cub Cadet 2166 and it's always run great. This spring I got it out to get ready to mow. It started but when I take my foot off the brake, the engine dies. I noticed under the seat two bare wires and I assume there was a pressure switch at one time. Could this be the problem?

    sunflowers

Yes, you can harvest with your Gleaner. I did an internship for Elanco and we were testing herbicides and we had lots of test plots that I harvested with our Gleaner. I grow sunflowers on our farm but not on a large scale. Just to attract wildlife and butter flys. Hey, happy wife means happy...

    What make/model plow is this?

Howdy all, I found an old plow and I could use it in our big garden. I'd like to strip it down and paint it but can't begin to guess the manufacturer and model. Also, there does not appear to be a stamp or data plate anywhere on the plow. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. <image...

    Seized up engine

I'd love to. I taught him this when he was 10 years old. However at age 24 and after multiple tours overseas, coupled with an IED and a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and 100% disability, he took his own life on the evening of July 20, 2014. Now Sir, do you have anything meaningful to add to...
