John DFeere H three way valve AB1545R
My H has the three-way valve but the shaft controlling the valve is broken off. I use the upper shut-off as a valve now. Someday I'll get rid of the three-way valve and do a more modern setup. Skip the small tank, feed sediment bowl direct from the large tank, then into the carb.- WI Dan

Is it normal? (shocked by H)
1941 John Deere H I noticed when I touch the boot of the spark plug, while touching somewhere else on the tractor, I get a good shock of electricity. Is that normal? The spark plug covers are missing, fyi. I haven't found them in the parts pile yet.- WI Dan

Brown David and pomester This tractor was the widow's father's. He was a heavy equipment mechanic in Milwaukee. I'm quite sure he modified the fuel system, as the whole tractor has been modified with a winch, plow blade, and log jammer. I doubt the fuel system is original.- WI Dan

I'm hoping for a quick clean at this point, but I believe you are correct. A deep-clean will be needed in the future. I didn't think about the top ceiling of the tank. Interesting.... I'll have to look at that, maybe with a mirror. Does the tank come out easily? Just a few bolts I hope?- WI Dan
