    Printer Question

Currently we have a Brother B&W laser. It's been very reliable except the toner cartridge has a pre-programmed expiration date. It says it's out of material, but it keeps printing if I override the warning. We print about 20 pages a week and the cartridge lasted us about two years. It's fast...

Another "Why didn't I do this earlier?"

Good idea! I just hit a hose with the brushhog. I saved the pieces - now I know why!

I've bought from them a few times. All good so far. They gave me a coupon for next time.

Questions: wrapping DRY hay (round bales, single cutting, grass w some legumes)

I've done some reading here on YT and other websites, but I am curious what others experiences have been. -not silage bales- this would be DRY hay, less than 18% moisture. Made from field grass, some clover, some triticale, some other stuff When do you wrap it? Immediately after baling, or...

How old is too old to castrate a bull calf?

That's what I was thinking too. We use a bander, rubber rings on the other calves. I've never done the knife method.

How old is too old to castrate a bull calf?

Beef, yes. We don't have need of a bull at this time. All run together, year round herd.

How old is too old to castrate a bull calf?

I've got two bull calves, born early spring of 2025. About a year old. We never caught them, so they didn't get tagged or castrated. I'm wondering if it's now 'too late' to do that?

Heifer to breed cow timeline question

Thanks! I'm familiar with the Tauros project. Our animals have peripheral ties to it. More closely to the Heck Cattle from what I gather. This herd is owned by another, while I am the caretaker. It is an interesting project! I'm glad to be a part of it, but just a side hobby. The Aueroch are...

Heifer to breed cow timeline question

Thanks for chiming in. Are you pulling the heifers at weaning? What age are you weaning?

Heifer to breed cow timeline question

Thanks Randy. That's interesting, albeit discouraging. I was hoping to get two more years with this bull. These Aueroch are ancient breed, not domesticated and not genetically selected. They are pretty wild. I'm hoping that slows down their maturing. The bull is decent size, but not anything I...
