    I wrap the shaft with saran wrap to protect the sharp edges as I install the seals on the shaft being sure to remove all of it after. Like DT says, plenty of lubriplate or such.     I googled "1966 case 530ck oil pan installation" & it mentions this: Cast-Pan Caution: If you have the heavy-duty cast iron oil pan, you may need to grind a small 45° chamfer on the edge of the oil pump to ensure it clears the pan.
