    New style knotter install problems

    336 baaler, knotter closet to trip actuator side of chute broke. Got newr style knotter and sleeve. Sleeve pins to shaft where cotter pin held old knotter frame (drive side) shim wsahers. problem is when newer frame is set/shimmed on sleeeve to knotter cam gear its over too far towards drive...

    JD Knotter Frame questions...

    i tapped the casting lightly with hammer it broke clean & easily along 'V' notch. Yea i do need to get sleeve kit for installing on another baler. So no matter what, lift arm shaft needs to be disassembled to install sleeve, but future service of it will be easier removing knotter. Thanks.

    my bad twine gets stuck on knife arm he says... the arms are rust free on the edgges inner and outer of circle, and not ruff surfaces.... if not fine file and sand them smooth. Plus check for too much knife arm movement in its pin hole, pin can be pushed up and down a lot... if so shim it to...

    twine fingers? or tucker finger plates?... they should be set so when holding light pressure on tucker fingers towards needle slot(removing slop in linkage) they clear needle by about 1/8 inch when needles in up(in knotter frame) position. think your knife arm that pulls twine back off billhook...

    Hydarulic shop that i got it thru said maybe someone put washers under regulator to increase pressure. This regulator does not have any washers in it, it uses orfice plates to set/control pressure.
