    Thank you for the suggestion. Would you happen to have a part number for that sending unit? My local NAPA store could not find anything for a John Deere 440?

    Because the model 40 JD never came with a fuel gauge, has anyone ever tried to retrofit a fuel gauge on one? Either a mechanical or electric.

I'm rebuilding a similar 40 U PTO, and having problems finding the cork seal M 2348 T. There is one on ebay that is (new) old stock. and like you I'm afraid it will crack and break...

    It was six or seven years ago when I tested it. So I can't recall. Most likely the throttle was in a idle position.

    What is acceptable compression? I have a model 40 U and currently the cylinders are running at 80 lbs. each. I can't find the specs on this item.
