    Generator starts but backfires.

Heck yes, I blame ethanol for everything. Water and petroleum don't mix well.

    Generator starts but backfires.

Yes, you are right I am trying everything to avoid tearing into the carb. Afraid if I tear it apart the generator will never run again. However, it doesn't run now! Got to get it up on the bench so I'm not standing on my head to work on it. Standing on my head at 87 causes the ground to go...

    Generator starts but backfires.

Put it back together. Fresh fuel with seafoam added. Let the fuel run through the carb. Closed the carb plug and it starts on the first pull with choke on, tries to run but still backfires through the carb and quits. I can keep it running with the choke on and feathered but it continues to...

    Generator starts but backfires.

I usually turn the fuel off and run it dry, but this time I lent it to my grandson, and I think he put ethanol gas in it and didn't run it dry. I am draining the tank right now and will drain the carb, it has a plug on the bottom. I'll put fresh ethanol free gas and a little seafoam in it...

    Generator starts but backfires.

I have a Champion 4000 watt generator. Hasn't been run in a year, was running fine but may have had ethanol gas in it. With the choke on it starts, but when you flip the choke off it backfires and quits. Won't rev up and run smoothly. I gave it a shot of ether with the same result. I am...

    Florida Solar panels questions

We are being forced! Government orders the installation and pays the subsidies, and we pay the government with taxes.

    Florida Solar panels questions

It is my understanding that Europe, who started the renewable thing, are going back to nuclear. The chart buickanddeere posted is startling. Because of the advances in technology I wonder if the answer to our energy production has been invented yet. Fission appears to be promising. I don't...

    Florida Solar panels questions

That is what I am saying...get rid of the incentives and investigate the actual costs. Last winter the solar farms in WNY were covered with snow for weeks. My friend in Alabama has a 10% reduction in generation if he doesn't wash the pine pollen of his panels daily. My biggest complaint is...

    Florida Solar panels questions

Without subsides wind and solar is impracticable! The consumer ends up paying higher rates and taxes pay the subsides. The rebates, paybacks , subsides or whatever you want to call them, are nothing but welfare from your neighbors. Try to find out how much the local solar farms are really...

    Small engine guys??

My small generator has been sitting for a year, maybe two. It should have no ethanol gas, but grandson may have put ethanol gas in it, with a dash of Sea Foam. He didn't run it out of fuel. It starts on the first pull/choke but will not rev up. It idles and backfires and quits when you stop...

    Tractor Batteries

Parasitic drain is in the tractor wiring and I can't find it. It is so small that there is no spark when I switch the battery on in the dark. Putting a switch on the battery solved it! Tractor sits 10 - 20 times more than it runs.

    Tractor Batteries

It's a Kubota 7030 and I didn't even look at the group, it's on its way to recycle. But it was sure bigger.

    Tractor Batteries

I needed a new battery for my 7030 and researched the Walmart batteries, bought the one with the most CCA. (750) Installed it today and it is much smaller that the battery I replaced. What size batteries are in tractors., I think this is a 23 and was the biggest one I saw. Thing still cost...
