    Hydraulic Lift Issues, To-30

Posting because my grandfather is having issues with his TO-30 tractor. He bought the tractor about 2 years ago. It has always had to "warm up" the hydraulic/transmission before his lift arms would work very well. If it didnt run for about 10-15 minutes prior to using it, the lift arms...

    Generator to alternator

Thanks everyone :-) I do appreciate it. It's a 1970 ford 5000. We live in very rural area of Oklahoma. Not much in the way of shops in this little town and the biggest town is about an hour away. Ill see if they are willing to trade, maybe so since it's still in the box.

    Generator to alternator

I'm wanting to take my old not working generator off of my tractor and swap it with a new alternator for a 1995 Dodge Ram. I bought it for the dodge but the tranny went out before I could install it. I know I'll have to get a bracket to fit, but I am wondering how to wire it. There is not a...

    Looking for a new tractor

Hello all, I was looking around and found a Fendt 500 tractor for a fair price. I know nothing about the brand. What's your take on them?

    Manure Spreader

Hey all, I was looking into buying a manure spreader... They are surprisingly more expensive than I had thought, even used. But I have an idea. I have an old ground driven square bale loader/elevator. How hard do you think it would be to cannibalize it along with a 15' trailer frame? If I put...

    Saw a craigslist ad, Farmall/IH 1466

I saw a post on our local Craig's list for an International Harvester/Farmall 1466. There wasn't any photos on the post, but he was about 20 miles from me so I drove out expecting to find a pretty nice tractor from the description on the post. However, once I got there, this is what I found...

    Recommendations on a tractor

We have 2 dealers here locally. One is a JD house and the other is a newly opened Mahindra about 30 miles away. I was asking here for ideas on the old work horses. I don't need the bells and whistles of the new computerized tractors when I could find a ford 4/5000 to do the job. Or even a...

    Recommendations on a tractor

I'm sure this is similar to asking a motor head what's better, ford or Chevy...it's ford by the way ;-) But I'm needing a good model tractor, minimum 60hp diesel. If it's 4x4, then a 40hp will do. Open station is optimal, or less than 9' tall from ground to top of cab/stack and horizontal is...

    IH 1086

It's definitely not what I was hoping to hear, but I do appreciate the information. I'll take it for a little stroll tomorrow and put it under a good bind to see if the TA is slipping or not. If it is, chalk it up to a learning experience and I'll look into finding another 100+hp tractor. :-)

    IH 1086

Once I get it started it runs just fine. This thing is really pretty trashed out. The cab, seat, gauges, ect are destroyed and there's not any glass or doors. There might have once been a button for ether assist but it's long gone now. There is a little valve stem cap covering the ether port to...

    IH 1086

I just found a 1086 at a local auction for $2500. We got it home and it just cranks and cranks unless I put ether to it. It has some sort of port that I can just inject it in the line to a cylinder instead of going through the breather. My question, it's more than likely dependent on ether to...

    Uh Oh..

Was going to put some oil in the engine because it was close to the Add line. When I took the cap off the top of the tappet cover to pour in the oil...this is what I saw.
