    i think these tractor will hold up to severe weather without a cover and still preform normal, but over time it will need maintained, however if you cover it will last longer

    is he sure the oil is not coming from the valve cover seal, however I do believe there is a oil port from the block to the head which then goes to the valve body and rockers I guess it could be leaking there and I believe that would require taking the head off to fix it

    Tony, how does one adjust the governor and can you go to far with it. I think the governor works on my tractor, but it could be better I believe, that is one thing I haven't adjusted on it. and it may be out of adjustment not sure, so how would I goes about it?

    it sounds like the tractor runs fine, remember its 30hp or less and gas power at that a tune up never hurts, but if you have the time and money to do the project be sure to do it right and good luck post back with question and progress

    eng. oil pressure

    if you have oil coming out of the line that goes to the gauge there is some pressure to move oil through the engine you can try thicker oil, and maybe change the oil a few time to help clean the inside of the engine or use sea foam and put it in in the oil to aid in the cleaning

    Misfire on cylinder #4

    I can think of a few things to check, head gasket, rings, bad valves, hole in piston, and maybe a cracked head? some of these may only show up when the engine is hot, but I believe they would all be fixable.

    i would go to the hardware and see if you can match the threads to some brass fittings there

    these are all good things to try and will start you in the right direction and you may find that one of the suggestion will fix your problem. it may also be a vacuum link from your carb to the intake or from intake to head? did this all happen before or after the rebuild?

    my understanding is the screws adjust fuel not really air so keep that in mind when turning the screws

    I got a chance to put my starter back in and the tractor fired with in a turn I guess the engine is tuned about right thank for the help ya'll
