Good day, I have a 47' B tractor, I just bought an 8ft. disk, plus a old 44H plow. Saying that could someone give me the basics, on what parts , I need to use the power trol with two lines for a cylinder. Thanks for all input. Merry Christmas! ALSO, I need some wheels weights, could I get the correct aftermarket numbers for F&H or something else?

You can download the OPERATOR'S manual for FREE at the John Deere Techpubs site, https://techpubs.deere.com/en-US/Search/Equipment which will show you the details of removing the dummy plugs and installing couplers to connect your cylinder. There's a bit of a learning curve as to dowloding the manual for free, but it can be done.

You will need two couplings, A3613R, still available from DEERE, or lots on GOOGLE.

Here is some info from a downloaded manual.

Left to right: dummy plugs (which you have), plug for remote line and cap. Cap is for remote plug when disconected and goes on the dummies when connected..

The rockshaft does not work with the remote plugs, only with the dummies. When you connect the remotes the caps go on the dummies and into clips on the right side of the valve but it looks like yours is missing. The lever on the side should be up or down to lock the plugs in. That's a nice looking B but it may struggle with that disk.

Have a '51 JD AR tractor which has been converted to pioneer type hose connectors that I like as I can use other cylinders with it. I did not do the conversion so know nothing about it. May be something you would consider.

Don: Putting the pioneers into the plugs will disable the rockshaft. I used to work with a guy who cultivated with an A. He had quick-connects in the plugs and couldn't figure out why the rockshaft would not lift the cultivator. He would put his chest against the steering wheel and raise them with the adjusting handles.

Thanks everyone for tips and the basics, to approach this. The B should handle the disk its a 8 foot case painted to look like a Deere? My 47 is bored 90 over broke in on the belt, coming in at 29 HP. SAYING that Could I get some wheel weight options? F&H number for what I need or a resource for wheel weights. Thanks, Bob63

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]POWR-TROL VALVE HOUSING[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the plug (Key 1) and the oil coupling (Key 22).

Take a look at the photo below of the plug, sometimes referred to as a dummy plug.

Note that the plug has a solid, closed end.

The plugs are installed in the Powr-Trol housing when a remote cylinder is not in use.

Take a look at the photo below of the oil coupling.

Note that the oil coupling has an open end.

Take a look at the photo below of how the oil flows through the oil coupling.

If the remote cylinder has one hydraulic hose for both supply and return, then connect the hydraulic hose to the bottom oil coupling.

If the remote cylinder has two hydraulic hoses, one for supply and one for return, then connect the supply hose to the bottom oil coupling and the return hose to the top oil coupling.

A remote plug, whether it be a dummy plug or oil coupling, should be positioned with the hole horizontal.

The hydraulics seem to work better if the hole is horizontal.

The hydraulics sometimes seem not to work so well if the hole is vertical.

Hope this helps.

I have everything you need already made up with quick connects on the ends .my phone number is 870-919-2212 or you can send me a message on messenger and ill send you pictures of what i have.

First off are you sure that is the tractor setup you have. They used 2 different setups for the remotes. The older style plugs used a shear washer to hold them in and the newer style as pictured used one with a lever on the right side to hold the plugs in or remove them. My 49 had the style from your picture but I think your 47 used the older style like my 46 did with the shear washers instead of the quick release with the lever on the side. Plugs are the same for both styles if I remember correctly.I think they changes styles in 48 but the entirel housing could have been changed from rockshaft only to power troll of eaither tupe. The 46 I hooked things up to the plugs with the holes thru them but on the 49 and 50 AR and 51 A the hoses hooked into the side of the box and I had the pionere couplers on everything, would not use the remote without them. If you do and with a load on the cylinder and acidently unhook the hoses you will get a very quick bath of oil pluse everything around you, tractor, implement, even barn door as Dad found out. Hooking direct to those plugs no check valve to stop the oil from blowing out. Always use the pioneere type with the breakaway type intact so you do not get that oil bath. Then with the hoses hooked out the side there is a third style plug you use on one spot on back of housing. To change from remote cylinder to rockshaft tou just take a cap off of it abd inside you will find a small knob that you either turn eithere in or out for to change from rockshaft to remote. I forget if you colse or openthat small knob to do the change over and put the cover back on. Quick look you do not know if that is in there or not. So first thing is make sure if you hace the quick change housing with the lever as pictured or the shear washers that you hace to unscrew a collar that actually fits over the hose to get that plug out unless you acidently yank the plug out thru the shear washers that used to be hard to get new and had to be replaced if you acidently pulled the hoses out. And took that oil bath. The Pioneer type connectors is the only way to go for a remote cylinder and if you never use the rockshaft you never have to do anything. Some very good ionformation but some may not be for what your tractor has on it. We used the remote cylinder on everything from plows, disks, field cultivators, mowers, hah conditioners, corn planters, combine platform and cormpicker snouts and field chopper and corn stalk shreader. Did not get the grain drill converted yet when I quit farming. Buct the rockshaft for cultivators and mounted picker. So just make sure of style you have and possibly post back with more information.

Hello, Rick Deere Merry Christmas ; yes send me a detailed picture, of what you have, prices etc. NO hurry as this is a early February project. thanks; Robert
