50 8N Piston Ring Spacer?

Go back and read the question and who answered that question?
Not one person , me included. I would like to think I go a little closer than some in answering the original question but no seegar. I will answer the original question, It is not common in this day and age to find ring spacers in pistons removed. That is my answer an I am sticking to it. Everyone else response is answering a question that was not asked by the original poster.

They were used once instead of new pistons. Maybe ok for that time but pistons had to have been worn then. Now to use spacers again on twice worn parts?
You can shoot all the holes in this practice that you want. All I am I am interested in is numbers. He said the ring is tight so all that is left is skirt and wrist pin clearance. And we have no way of knowing that. Whatever it was, it's going to be less now with his new sleeves.

We don't even know if wear is the reason for their installation.... why did some Fords in the seventies come from the factory with .010 U/S crankshafts?

I beg to differ. Apparently the OP likes to rebuild engines for fun and profit but doesn't own or use a mic.

Aesthetic profit perhaps. I do have micrometers, but don't ever fully trust my ID measurements. My highly valued engine shop guy always gets just a little different number. Thanks for helpful advice.
You should be measuring OD of the piston. Thats all you need to know. The shop manual shows you where and how.to measure and what the allowable dimensions are.

Kind of a narrow view, isn't it. Just decided I'll just go back to reading old posts. Thanks.

Well, took a long time, but the 8N seems to be all ready for the 21st century now. We reused the old pistons, everything good so far. I got parts from 6 different countries, maybe 7. Mostly wanted to say that all these imported parts, so far, seem to be good enough.

The voyage is important part of getting to destination.
Thanks for update..
