Wiring confusion- 8N

I recently purchased an 8N 6v......took the hood off today and took a look at the wiring and it is a mess.
I have searched and searched to no avail for the correct schematic to completely rewire it.
This is a front distributor (and the singe small coil wire befuggles me also), and the gen is a 3 wire.
Those are the main things that I can't locate. The resistor block looks different (I know, they can change them) also.
Now, the gens I've seen have one wire, and coil must be for side mount distributors cause they have a standard (what I'm used to) main coil wire to distributor and two terminals.....mine has one small wire which should be standard.
The schematics I've seen do not have my setup.......would someone please help me with the correct schematic?
Thanks to all

Look under the distributor cap and see if you have a pertronix electronic ignition.

Welcome to the forums.

I doubt you have a Pertronix electronic ignition system. The front mount coil only has one power wire going to it, as the wiring diagram above shows. The other terminals (such as you see on a side mount or ignition system with a "can" coil") are inside the front mount distributor and cap, not exposed where you can see them.

Check your direct messages (the envelope beside your username at the top), I sent you some info.

This is for my own knowledge, as I’ve never touched a front mount. But this diagram from myfordtractors.com has an extra wire to the coil for what the amendor calls a “12V breakerless module”, which I took to be an electronic ignition system. What is this extra wire the diagram is calling for?

As noted on that drawing it is an addition wire to be added for a "breakerless" (EI) module. The original system with points has just the one power wire connected to the coil, as he posted he was seeing. Him seeing one wire, indicates it still has points, not EI.

The extra wire is common with EI however installing an EI system, it is best to first follow the manufacturer's wiring instructions for the given module, as the drawing you posted may or may not match what the manufacturer says for their module.

I’m seeing now I misread the OP’s original post, as I thought he said that he was seeing two wires to the coil, where the drawings only called for one. That’s where the “check if it’s Pertronix” recommendation came from. Good catch.

The cumulative effects of nearly a century of botched repairs to the wiring can be interesting.

The 3 wire generator is probably either an 8N10000A or B. The difference between them is the adjustable 3rd brush in the A revision, which you should remove according to Service Bulletin 78, which is included in the post linked below. All the third brush does is enable you to adjust the amperage from inadequate to nearly adequate. After removing the 3rd brush the amperage is improved all the way to barely adequate, and is a good justification for finding 6V LED headlight bulbs and reflectors that fit in vintage cans. There is some good information in this thread from Tim Daley and JMOR along with some questions from some dumb newbie with a monkey for an avatar. This picture from JMOR might help:
