No spark to plugs

My name is Harold and I have a 44 2N Ford front mount distributor set up according to service manual (.015 points) and still have no spark to the plugs. Using the bench check I have a strong spark at the coil, where it meets the cap without the cap on, at the coil where it meets the cap, but when I put the cap back on I do not have a spark to the plugs. Any ideas what could be causing my problem?

Bad cap or bad rotor or bad plug wires

You obviously had it apart to check the points gap. Check to make sure the pigtail on the bottom of the coil is properly touching the screw in the top of the distributor housing, and that nothing is grounding out to the housing itself.

Hi Harold, welcome to the forum. You say you are getting spark doing a bench test. Do you have voltage to the top of the coil when on the tractor? It could be a bad ballast resistor or ignition switch.
