620/630 vs 3020 gas

Hello,
Anyone that has or used a 620 or 630 compared to a gas Powershift 3020 was there a noticeable different in power and so on? I understand on paper the 3020 is larger, but wanted real world info on if the difference in farm tillage and seeding work is worth the cost for a 3020?

I own a 630 gas and late model 3020 diesel synrange. i enjoy the sound of my 630 working but if I had to choose between my 630 or the 3020, I would choose the 3020.

I had a diesel 3010 and neighbor has a 60. They are about the same size as what you are talking about. The 3010 was much more of a tractor I pulled an 8 row planter with it comfortably. Didn’t have much reason to do tillage with it but probably half again the size of implements the 630 is capable of. You can stack weight on the front of the 3020 too and not destroy your 630. It is not a 4020 though either.

630 would be more fun with the smaller implements imo if acreage and time allows

If you already have a reason for diesel and you aren’t adding a fuel I guess that’s another consideration it is a pain to have 2 fuels at my place. A 3020 gas will be very thirsty.

A decent 4 cylinder the size of the 3020 has not been produced in 30 years. Everything at least around me is either a utility tractor that doesn’t go down the rows very well or way too big.

I am sure the 3020 would come out on top in many things. BUT if i had to pick one for myself 620 hands down! I also like the sheet metal on them better than 630

The ground here is very heavy. My 620 can pull 2-16s but really wouldn’t want any more. I had a 2520 diesel and it would pull 3-16s without a problem.

3010 replaced 730, 4010 was a new rowcrop size.

If emission regulations keep tightening . Manufactures of equipment under 100HP will have to consider gasoline and propane .

I would opt in favor of a 3020 diesel over a 3020 gas. The power difference over a 630 is very apparent as long as the 630 has standard bore pistons. The 630 can do a lot of work but a 3020 diesel will accomplish a lot more over the course of a day. The 630 is respectable in terms of operator comfort but the 3020 offers quite a bit more and your body will feel fresher at the end of a day's work. As the others have implied the 3020 to do work and the 630 to play or do light chores.

A guy that I worked with had a 3020 and a 630. He said that the 3020 was the one to use on PTO powered implements like a round baler. What he found interesting was - the 630 would pull a loaded wagon through a muddy spot when the 3020 would spin out. One man's observation that I did not witness.

When it comes to pulling a load and in particular the tires on the tractors in comparison many people easily try to compare apples with oranges. The condition and style of tire on the 630? On the 3020? It would be rather rare for two tractors in question to have the same style tires and the same amount of wear on them.
