4430 steering pump leak

I’m working on a 4430. The steering pump is leaking oil at the plug on the side of the steering pump. I have removed the side rail, plate in front of the plug and the snap ring retaining the plug. The plug is being very hard to get out. I screwed the bolt into the plug and thought I could use it as a puller to get it started out but am afraid I’m going to strip the thread in the plug. The plug will move a fraction but stops! Anyone have any suggestions on a puller or any other advice on removing this? I believe Deere calls it a sleeve?

Loosen the oil line going to that end of the piston. Hydraulic suction will prevent pulling the plug out. Have also seen the snap ring roll a burr on the edge of the bore. Slide hammer is the best option.
