MF 50 Hydraulics not working

I've been trying to attach a log loader but I'm not sure if it's something internal with the tractor or if I'm doing something wrong. The 3 point works as it should, the rear blade will go up and down. I'm not sure if I have the hydraulic lines connected in the right spot and which lever to engage. Thanks for any ideas.

if i make no mistake the remote control valves you have use fluid from the three point lift pump. in order for them to work the position control lever has to be in the constant pump position and the draft in the full raise position. on most the position control lever has to be moved pass the stop at the top of it's travel to furnish fluid to the remotes, this doesn't apply to all because some have a pressure control type lift and the positions of the position control lever are different. just curious as to why your using 2 hyd line and only using one pressure line and the other plumbed back to the hitch cover return hole ?

I'm not actually sure where the lines should be connected. I've been trying different connections to see what would work. Can you recommend where to connect the lines? Thanks.

That type auxiliary valve uses the tractor internal (3-point) hydraulic system for its supply.

The picture below is how I believe the hoses to your remote couplers hook up. Since you only have two couplers (1 set with two hoses and couplers could run a double acting cylinder) my understanding is they recommend using the set of ports on the right (2A and 2B in the picture) spool, if one cylinder is being used. The manual shows the lift port as the rear port and the dump port as the front one.

I believe the quadrant Draft control lever needs to be in the full up position and the inner quadrant lever needs to be in the constant pumping position. and the left lever of your auxiliary valve needs to be in the detent (rear) position.

Some of those valves had screws to turn to set the valve for use either a single or double acting cylinder. Get a good picture of the front of the valve body where the white arrow is pointing and the opposite end (rear). The drop ports get capped off for single acting remote cylinders. Or if you have two couplers on the spool turn the screw to single acting and only hook the single acting cylinder hose to the lift coupler.

Do you have the Operator's manual (MF publication number 690525M1 or it could have a higher suffix number for a printing) for your MF 50? It has some info on the optional hydraulic valves, yours included, in the Accessories Section.

I may not be 100% on all of this and Dieseltech may be along with more info as he was a MF mechanic for many years.

if your cylinder is dual action being the left side has a handle hook the hose going to the lift cover to the other fitting on that side and see if your cylinder works in both directions, if it only moves when the lever is moved toward the seat the valve is set for single action. i'm guessing the slotted screw between the fitting on the rear of the valve is how you change it, that is how a couple of ours are only on new style valves, but from the picture it's is probably froze up.

Hooking one hose of a cylinder to one spool of a two spool valve and the other hose to the second spool of the valve won't work. The ports for each spool are front to rear of the valve body, not across from each other.

I will attach the hoses to 2A + 2B and will get pictures of the front and rear.

I don't have a manual but will check online to see what's available.

The previous owner only used the 3 point. Nothing has been changed only the addition of the two hoses.

what i meant was to remove the hose connected to the lift cover marked as NO and connect to the fitting marked 1B as marked in Jim.ME's photo that will have both hose connected to the left side spool valve being that one has a control handle

Here is a view looking down. Could that be the screw for single or double acting cylinder?
