Ask yourself why you want a windrow? A haybine does a good job with the reel over the cutter bar and will keep going through just about anything. Older ones work well without worrying too much whether the rollers are in the best of shape. Cut your hay and leave it in a windrow.

I would guess he wants it for swathing grain before combining with a pickup head - same thing they would have used them for back in yesteryear.
