Anyone out there know of any machine shop that has any experience hot welding a Unstyled G head. Talked to Murphy's motor service and they are no longer doing that work so now its off to the races to find someone that will beef up an Unstyled G head. Any help would be much appreciated

what’s wrong with the head ? Cracked ?

Hot weld? Put whole head in the a furnace, get red hot, then weld up, machine out. In Iowa, Nevada 1700 W F Avenue, was Williams Cylinder Head, Midwest Cylinder Head, now Arnolds Motor Supply 1-515-382-2791, M-F 730-500..

IMO that's the only way to successfully weld cast iron.

Arnold’s will also send it down to Neveda on one of their trucks from any of their locations which is handy

They have some lead time. 3 months was the last thing I sent if it’s a summer puller best get it there pronto.

There’s a machinist in Riceville Iowa who also does this with a lead time of about a week. Never had an issue with either place.

They did a great job on my 720 years ago, I would recommend them.
