I bought a "new to me" 1996 John Deere 5300 PID LV5300E632121*
I did not do a good pre-purchase inspection (already gotten the lecture). Got it home and the clutch is slipping. I am hoping that it needs adjusting, but I cannot seem to figure out how to adjust it.
The operators manual has the following image :
The problem is, I don't have the connecting clip pin (C in the image). Mine looks like this:
The top end of the rod
is threaded, but the top piece goes into a ball joint that has a lot of pressure on it. I might be able to get it off, but don't think I can get it back on without relieving the pressure. 
I hope I am missing something obvious here....
