310 Diesel oil pressure

I have a 310 diesel, non turbo in a pulling tractor. The fuel cooler and filter housing have been removed and replaced by
a remote full flow filter. Oil pressure is around 15 psi and increasess only couple psi at 1800 RPM. Engine runs great, cool, and good power.
I plan on replacing red relief and possibly shimming. Is the lack of the relief spring that was in filter base possibly effecting oil pressure?
What else should I look for? Change? Any suggestions appreciated.

Post a picture of the front right bottom corner of the motor, front of and below the alternator or generator. (Same area shows serial number of block) There's earlier threads on this. Different versions of that block and their relief springs.
Call Maibach tractor in Ohio. GG Wes

is the 15-17psi by the gauge on the dash? if so, check it with a good test gauge at the rear of the block.
should be 25-30psi hot at idle.

and no, the bypass valve in the filter base you removed only provides an alternate path when the filter is clogged. you removed the bypass path so full flow goes from oil pump to filter, regardless of filter condition. from there pressure is regulated by the relief valve at the front of the block.

I think we may have opened a big can here, that's why I asked for his picture of the front right corner of the block. It will be Friday night before I can get some pics here, but we've visited with Chris Losey at the NY national show.....
In the timeframe of the 1955 having oil cooler blocks, and 1755 not, and replacement blocks going out to the field, not all oil relief valves were created equally, I think....
We have a 1755 block into a 1800c, I will get you a picture of the front. GG Wes

those equipped w coolers had additional bypass/relief valves for the cooler and bypass filter circuits, but that doesn't change the purpose of the relief valve on the main gallery at the front of the block, which is post pump, cooler, and filter(s).

Thanks for the replies. Kinda what I thought, so will reolce red spring and possibly shim it and see if that helps.
if the main relief spring isn't broken, just shim it and see if the pressure increases. if it doesn't, you might have a problem with the relief on the oil pump (or the pump is worn).
