Ford 641 - Need a mechanic

Hello all, I have inherited a Ford 641. It's my wife's grandfathers tractor and it was used as a logging tractor. It still starts and runs great. The father in law had someone put a clutch in it. It's really jumping when try to "feather" in the clutch. It also needs a set of brakes. Mowing around the pond with no brakes is a little dicey. I typically do these things myself but I don't have time. I'm looking for someone in the Southern Illinois area to do the work. I'm in zip code 62899. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Best regards and have a great day.

What do you mean by "jumping"? Tractors will do that if you don't release the clutch properly. Or is the motor surging?

Try adjusting the brakes before just replacing them (minor adjustment). An auto type adjusting tool will work better than a screwdriver pictured.

Thanks for the response. I have a lot of experience with manual transmissions on tractors. I’ve never had one act this way. There is no slip. It either engaged or disengaged.

If possible I would like to continue the discussion about the clutch grabbing. To be more descriptive, I am trying to "inch" the tractor forward to put it in the shed. When trying to do this I am trying let off the clutch just enough to get it move forward. There doesn't seem to be any "slip". It's either fully engaged or not engaged at all.

My other tractors would let me do this. Those are John Deere 4430, 2030, 2010, IH 706 and Kubota M7040.
