Fairbanks Morse DRV2A RV2A Magneto

I have 2 Fairbanks Morse DRV2A Magnetos. The first one has a different lug coupler cap on it than I have seen on other mags, can anyone tell me what is unique about that? It also has a condenser on the outside that someone obviously added, not sure what that is all about but I am sure I will figure it out when I take the cap off.

Last question and I know you guys hate this but going to throw it out there, what are these worth in working condition? I have searched everywhere I can think of and can not find any that are for sale or have been sold. These are from my dad's collection, the Lord called him home 15 years ago, I bought them but that was over 20 years ago so I can't remember what I paid for them. Any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The RV2A magneto was used on the early Model A and AR. The cond. inside is not available any more. That's why the cond. was mounted on the outside. You can open the area where the original cond. was located to install yours that is mounted on the outside. I did that on 1 of my RV2A mags. Don't know what a good price would be if selling or buying.

Mark,

I appreciate the information, I should have stated that I know the RV2A where originally used on the early unstyled A's and the RV2B was used on the early B's, I was mostly wondering about the lug being different. I figured the condenser was originally on the inside so I guess I will find out why it is external when I open it up.

The drive lug looks the same as my RV2A. The drive lug on a RV2B is different as it sits back into the gov. drive compared to the early A gov. housing.

Additional information/question, here are pictures of the lug on the 2nd RV2A mag, is this anything original that anyone has seen or is this an RV2B coupler on an RV2A mag?
