What does this bolt go to that leaks fluid below the level plug on a Ford 2600? If you try to tighten it it just spins. I'm not sure if it's missing an oring on the inside or what. Do I need to split tractor to fix the leak?

Unless it's leaking really bad, I'd be a bit cautious with that. It's holding on to a part (tube and strainer) on the inside of the case, and although there's a captive nut on the tube, if you remove that screw, you may not get it back in. Leaks are annoying but................

The screw doesn't have any tension and felt like it has a spring on it. I felt it could turn and did not increase any tension when I tried to tighten it. I would doubt it's left handed threads. When I felt no tension I stopped after a couple turns and thought I better research this. Thanks for the input.

From memory, and it's not the best. That should be a screw head, not a bolt. It threads into a retainer for the hydraulic line. If you remove it the retainer will slide down the line so there will be nothing to thread into. You can access it from the plate on the other side to put it back.

Looks to be quarter inch. 7/16 wrench fits it. Drawing shows one washer and bushing this has about 4 washers stacked. Someone may have changed something. The drawing looks like has a square nut on the bracket. I'll put some tension on it under the washer with a screwdriver and try to tighten it. Thanks for the input.
