John Deere 9600 unloading auger question.

My 9600 unloading auger no longer moves out or back. With the engine running, the engine loads down slightly and you can hear hydraulic pressure that sounds like it's bypassing the solenoid/valve body and it sounds as if it's flowing near the filter. The auger is free to move as I removed the cylinder from the turret and physically moved the auger by hand. My thought is the valve body. Anyone have any thoughts? (And I have not received a service cd at this time).

I can't remember if the owners manual will tell you or not which solenoid/valves on the valve stack operate the unload auger. Once you get your service manual you'll be able to find it for sure. Once you locate the correct valves on the stack I would first have someone operate the auger while you hold a screw driver next to the solenoids and see if the screw driver get's pulled in by magnet force. That will tell you if the solenoids are working at all. Next I would pull the valves out and look for blown o-rings. If no o-rings are blown, look in parts advisor and see which valves use the same part number as the unload auger and swap them around. After that if still no answer it'll be a little more in depth.

Might also be wise to check if the cylinder is leaking internally. You can unhook the cylinder retract oil line and then try extending the auger. BUT you'll have to be very careful when you do this because if it's leaking by in the cylinder you'll have oil all over the place. Or if something is goofed up in the valves you "could" have oil spraying out the cylinder retract oil line that's disconnected. If you do this just operate the extend switch as short of time as possible at first.
