A 9N disguised as a red belly. Know little about it and I will post more in the coming weeks. At first I thought it was an early 8N but clearly it's an imposter. 6 volt electrics, no spark but it does turn well and it appears to be complete, going to have my fat kitty do a cat scan to see what's up with it. Has a newer grading blade and 12V conversion kit in a box.

That would look really good with a pressure wash and a good scrubbing!

Serial number 9N181708 makes it a 1945 Ford 2N.

So I'm working with a '45 vintage 2N, was going on the first digits of the serial number. This one is gonna take some work getting out of its resting place and down the road considering the sheer volume of everything in the way. It arrived not running but not a big deal for me, 1945 simplicity at its best. Don't know anything about the previous life or why it was painted up, show puller maybe? Do know the engine has been worked on given the punches around the side plugs to keep them in place and the aftermarket fuel filter on the carb but overall I think it's a winner. Rear tires still have numbers on the outside of the treads but I don't know what the bottoms are like having been static for the better part of a decade.
What really grabbed my attention was the lack of rust & destruction of the fenders and the sheetmetal, everything is in excellent shape all around. It's either replacement or has had a really easy life and never beat on and that alone makes it worth the $500. It will get the 12V conversion however as 6V batts around here are a little expensive so all the originals get boxed up and saved. Headlamps are already 12V so we work with what we have. Once things get moved to the driveway I will have a better idea and snap more pictures along the way. It appears to be a virgin other than the paint so maybe the details will be helpful for others.

Hi Brhatweed, nice 2n!!!
Am I seeing a remote round can coil?
Wonder if Pertronix xt block off plate, or other on the distributor?

If choose a 3.0 ohm coil when 12v, you wont need ANY resistor(s)

That's a good question and I guess we'll find out once I get it moving. I didn't dig very deep into anything when I did the looksie and snapped the few photos but nothing would surprise me here really, just grabbed the belt and gave it a yank to see if the motor would turn and went to do some prospecting in the barn. Gonna pull it back with the 8N once I get a few things settled.
