I can't believe I'm having problems with this, seems pretty simple. As i try to join the two together they get stuck about 2 inches apart. I do have the pto shaft pulled out as well as the lever for it. It looks like a stud sticking out of of the pump is hitting the bearing housing. The only thing I did with the pump was pulled the cover and placed a new gasket on it. What did I do wrong here?

I'm sure I could lower the pump a bit and make it fit, but something is wrong. I split the two while the pump was in.

I'm dumb, I just realized the pump housing and cover are in backwards, I'm only out a gasket. I thought it only went one way.
Don't feel bad. When I changed an intake manifold on a 350 Chevy, I did everything right except for connecting the spark plug wires the wrong direction around the distributor. That took me a while to figure out.

LOL, I paid so much attention to the real important things this got away from me. I went back and looked at my old pictures when I took it apart. Sure as heck, there it was.

A few pics from tonight. Things are going together well. Hooking the draft control connection to the pump was a giant pia.
