I should change oil in our C this spring, what's the best filter to use and the best place to get them? I use Mobil Delvac 15-40 oil, available at the farm store or WM. Thanks!

That's a good question. I had problems with the ones I bought at the IH dealer a couple of years ago. All 3 of them leaked around the O ring. Yes I know to remove the old O don't and clean the groove out. Those O rings did not fit correctly. I then bought 3 from NAPA and they worked fine. But NAPA has changed their products, at least in my area and I find them to be inferior now. So I don't really have a good answer for you. Your C should take the short filter and I would look for an old school auto parts store that has or can get quality parts. That's what I'm going to do.

I have had my best luck buying new old stock filters from online sellers such as ebay.
Too much poor quality with new products.

Wix is what I used last time.
check this.
Cover wouldn’t oil seal , had two rubber seal rings stacked in cover groove . Got them both out . Sealed fine with one .

I like Baldwin filters they seem to do a good enough job.

On my 200 I recently changed oil filters and the O ring was too large to fit into the groove. I needed the tractor so I ended up just cleaning up the old ring and installing it back in the groove and it sealed. I have the same problem on a seal for a canister fuel filter on another tractor. The old seal fell apart so it has to be new. I am still looking.

I buy mine on this web site. I think they are Baldwin.
