JD 2155 seat cushions and trans dipstick location

Where can I get seat bottom and back cushions for this model tractor? I’m not even sure if it is the factory seat or not. Looking at partscatalog.deere.com I don’t see one exactly like it out of the several options shown. Thanks for all your input on where to go. Also, I cannot find where to check the hydraulic/rearend fluid level. The Operators Manual I purchased for it shows a dipstick to the right of the top link mount, but I do not have one there. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all your replies!

regarding the seat, I googled "john deere 2155 parts" and quickly arrived at this very web site https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/...rchArea=John-Deere&&md=2155&cat=Seats&r=mcats

there appears to be at least one possible alternate dipstick possibility for you to research (snip credit to Tx Jim Oct 20, 2020)

The seat is an aftermarket unit just look on this website for a seat or tractor supply also has them dipstick is on the rear above the axle as in the last picture you posted

Appears to be the standard universal suspension seat. This site has them as do many others. TSC and other box stores have them also. Little over $100.

Well gee wiz. I don’t have a dipstick there either, only a plug. Any other ideas?

You know what's odd in your picture is the plug should be painted if factory. And I would be curious if a plastic plug would have been used in an area that could allow water to enter the hydraulic system.

As TxJim mentioned the location is different pending serial number. Start there. What is your serial number? Under 621999 it is in the transmission case coming out by 3pt linkage. Above 691619 it is in the pto housing.

Tractor is the later one. The plug is a sort of rubber one, and I agree, I would have thought it would be a steel or brass plug.

Have you made certain the plug has a bottom or is it the grommet the dipstick goes into ?? And somebody stole your stick.
It’s definitely a rubber cup plug. Kinda like a thimble with a flange around the top, put in upside down. I don’t want to remove it until I have something to put back in it incase I bugger it up getting it out. Tractor was bought new by the city and used at the waste water plant back when they had drying beds. Curious how they have checked the fluid level all those years.
