I spent my entire working career working on these engines in a certified Case shop, I have done a couple of these pumps on the bench in my time but, there are some special tools required or you risk breaking the stud at the advance piston area and you are disadvantaged as far as verifying proper pump output, the operation should be done in a sterile environment. I use Dieseltech and don't look back, I recommend that you do as well.

Alrighty then. Thank you for the update. That kinda makes sense to me. Let me ask you this..... Would pulling the stop plunger back a little have the same effect? Mine acts like it's a gas engine with a restriction and pulling on the stop cable acting as a "choke" actually smooths the engine up a lot. Weakens the nnalert out of it though....
