Limiting chain on a Deere 630 center link

I have a 1959 Deere 630 and I bought a 1300 lbs disk mower. I was going to put a limiting chain on it. Do you think the center link is strong enough to handle that? Also, would the cylinder hook on the back of the 630 handle that weight? Thanks.

I have already mowed with it. Doesn't seem to be a problem. Just don't want to have the arms have to hold that weight alone for the entire time I mow.

Do you have an owner's manual and does it say anything about maximum weight on the 3 pt hitch? Your right rear tire looks smaller than the left and no fender on the right but one on the left.

I am also a little concerned on the weight capacity of the tractor the Vermeer wing mower we have that size has been on a 4040 and a 4440. I have no doubt that it’s fine with that size of mower behind it but off to the side boy I don’t know. disk mowers are much heavier than the old sickle

I’m less nervous about the 3 point I think that should probably be fine

Just wait until you catch the end of the cutter and go for a ride. Swap the rear tires and get another fender. Or a bigger tractor.

Are you thinking of hooking the chain in one of the unused lower holes in the yoke where the tractor end of the center link is pinned?

I think this would be strong enough.

As one of the other fellows said it’s a lot of torque on the rock shaft with the bar hung out to the right. The 630 three point and rock shaft are fine working and bouncing all day long with 1300 pounds if the load was reasonably centered.

Draft sensing was through the center link on those tractors. I wouldn't ask the center link or its attachment point to carry a vertical load. You might damage some internal mechanism. Sturdier attachment points at the axle housing.
