JD Two Row Planter ID

Evening,
I picked up a two row planter and after searching on this site and google photos, I can't find one that matches. The most distinguishing characteristic that I have seen is the quick-link support is straight from bottom to top and I have not found another like this. In all the pics I have seen, the bracket is wider at the bottom and narrows 1/3 up to the quick-link pin hole. Potentially converted from horse to 3 point and the quick-link bracket is not standard. A few parts have raised part numbers but nothing turns up on google when I search on the numbers (e.g. Y-5186-B).

Appreciate your help,
David

It looks to be a 999L with a 3 point installed on it. The 919L came with the 3 point on it
The Sleeve number you show was used on both planters
If you want a parts manual for it I have one for $6 P/S
Also if you want to use it to plant I have some seed plates

I appreciate the information and pics. I agree the 3 point appears to have been added after initial production. Did the 999L have both seed and fertilizer boxes as an option? I am. I have no current plans to plant with it. I am interested in purchasing a parts manual once I am 100% sure of the model.

The Fertilizer parts would be a Extra on the older models. The Basic planters did not change much till the late 1930's

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have found very little between Facebook groups and searching in general. I too just bought the same planter but mine has the horse / drawbar style. I did see a couple with the 3pt, but this one was in much better condition and had everything with it. It was used for planting up to two years ago, everything moves freely and functions and has 4 pairs of plates with it, both seed and fertilizer boxes with lids. A test run with the small plates for the sweet corn seed showed even and consistent seed drops. I am looking for manuals, Seems its a 919L model? But any insight would be appreciated. I have seen some vintage manual offerings on ebay, curious if there are any digital for reference of settings adjustment, etc. I plan to buy a vintage manual and as a winter project take this apart, blast and paint it. Planning to put in a couple acres of corn with in very soon.

Update: I did find and purchase the digital copy of the manual for the 919L
