2755. Super hard to start, Steering inop

So I got this 2755 and im hearing hydraullic issues on these things are tricky and common.

Here’s my question, I have a functioning 3 point. But no steering and this tractor is 4wd with the hydrostatic steer. With lack of charge oil being the main cause of these tractors hydraulic issues am I still having a charge issue if the three point functions? Or does that lead to steering control valve or a steering ram failure.

Also I have a decent leak at the small hose on the top of the reservoir above the front pump that is just pushed onto a barb there. That tells me I’m getting oil from the charge pump too no?

Did you lose power steering all at once or was it gradual failure? When was the last time the hydraulic oil and filter were replaced and the suction screen cleaned?

First thing I recommend is changing hyd filter & checking hyd oil suction screen if those tasks haven't been recently performed. Next check hyd stand-by pressure by attaching a gauge to RH side of hyd system or rear scv breakaway coupler. Hyd pressure should be 2250-2350 psi. Does this tractor have options of hyd hi-lo or hyd pto? If so does steering fail when both hyd controlled functions are operated? You can download a free 2755 operators manual in correct serial # range @ https://techpubs.deere.com/en-US/Search/Equipment?page=0&sug=False&st=model&kw=2755

It only has 1100 hours on it, but looks like those were hard hours. I’ve done

i purchased the tractor like this…. So I’m assuming change hydraulic oil and clean suction screen and filter first

Or remove remove intake hose from reservoir at front and see if I’m getting charge oil..

One thing I’m noticing is the hydraullic pipes look cut and there’s rubber hose inbetween…. Manual says those are 150psi🤔. That would blast that rubber off of there I’d imagine….

I have both
Service Manual TM4434
And supplement TM4436
And I’ve looked at the operators manual on the Deere website.

One thing I’m noticing is the 4wd steering section doesn’t seem to be in any manual I’ve found

So I can get a hydraullic gauge and plug it into the right side rear aux input and that will tell me front pump pressure?

I’m correct in assuming, three point, AUX Both run from front pump as well as steering correct

Yes you're correct frt hyd pump operates all hyd functions except hyd hi-lo or hyd IPTO. Does this tractor have options of hyd hi-lo &/or hyd pto?

Install hyd gauge on RH of front of hyd pump or at rear of pressure(flow) control valve.

If so & either operate then the trans pump is building pressure.

If this tractor has scv then pressure can be checked at rear breakaway coupler.

Where is this scv located on the tractor to check if it has one

The Selective Control Valve (SCV) is the valve that controls the remote "quick" couplers at the rear of the tractor.

I advise downloading and saving the free Operator's manual to your computer or device at a minimum. I have downloaded and printed the ones I got, so as to have a reference copy at hand.

Shown in photo is a deluxe 2755 breakaway coupler which requires male ISO tips for attaching hose. Moving lever to opposite side of coupler allows for easier connection of male tip.

Yea this tractor has two of those. And I believe two
Levers next to the three point control that control them?
