Anyone need a new tailgate for early 70s chev pickup

Was looking through the new parts shed at my local tractor salvage yard and saw

Appears to be new. The amount of stuff like this they have is amazing. If anyone wants it I can get a price for you. There is also a Ford under it, but it was never painted and has surface rust. Similar vintage i would guess.

Sadly it maybe won't be too many more years and all that inventory will end up sold by the pound. Too bad that stuff wasn't cataloged and inventoried when it went in there. But,,,, that alone would have been a huge job.

If it were for a stepside bed, I'd be your huckleberry. There are plenty of guys on that board which will pay well for a tailgate in that condition. Selling there costs a #25 membership, but you will make your money back many times over. Tell 'em Palallin sent you.

That would be a square body tailgate. C/K series 1973 through 1987, or through 1991 on the R/V series.

Those make terrific sitting benches!!! Get out the welder and make a great one!
Edit to add I just looked on etsy and the benches go for just over two thousand bucks. Worth your time!

I was thinking exactly the same thing. One of those square bodied tailgates is the backrest of my bench.
