Done looking for a skid steer LS170

Was talking to a friend of mine a couple months ago, said I was thinking about a skid steer. He asked 'Why don't you buy mine?'
He's older than me, his personal situation says he doesn't need it anymore.
He bought it new. 192 hours on it. I remember when he bought it.
I'm 6'3", weigh more than I want to admit, and 66 years old..little snug getting in/out. But it'll get easier as I mess with it.

It was fun loading it. Those steel tracks did not want to get up on that steel trailer. And it was about all that trailer wanted. Wasn't a long haul, 15 miles.

Has foot controls. realized they were oriented the same as the loader valve on my Massey...left pedal boom, right bucket tilt...we'll get better at it.

Came with the tracks, root rake/grapple, rock bucket, bolt in manure teeth, and I bought a bale spear from him. I'll get a skid steer plate and weld to it.

Yeah, I got a deal. Told him he could do better, but. More than I was looking to spend, but 192 hours and the accessories...
It'll look good when the kids have the estate sale.

Last pic I was showing my wife why we needed this, taking out some old rotten raised beds and putting in taller/easier on the back beds.
Not sure she was convinced. But she got her beds, she's happy.

For the tricky stuff I would rather rely on my fingers than my toes. Hats off to you if you feet are that sensitive.

I got on a Bobcat when I was about 14,with foot controls,so I have a hard time with anything else.I've had a few machines over the years, but am running a Bobcat today.I owned a couple of Cases with the hand flippers, and really wanted to keep one,(I do like Case equipment). After a year or so of fighting it I gave up and went back to the Bobcat. If you were to ask me which pedal is the boom and which is the bucket I really couldn't tell you.I ran a Cat for a little bit, with one lever for drive and steer, and one lever for both bucket and boom.I was always slamming the bucket into the ground and spinning it in a circle.I first ran a Case backhoe at the same age, with pedal swing. That was 55 years ago,and to this day I'll sometimes stomp on the floor of my excavator when I want to swing.

They are a good machine had a Lx565 that was plumb wore out that I rebuilt and used for 10 years or so. Had tracks on it for a while pros and cons on tracks. Sold the lx565 and purchased LS170 about the same machine but with a turbo as the 565. Like them both have had the Ls170 about 10 years now and put on about 120-150 hrs a year on it. Been good machine except mice got into behind computer up in top of cab they damaged the computer expensive repair. Do not know if you can get rebuilt any more or not and I do not think you can purchase new so now I keep a close eye for signs of mice. You can pull computer i believe is 4 bolts and clean behind it mouse poison or whatever works for you. Mine is pushing 5-6000 hrs now and would buy it again in a heart beat.

I remember you talking about your NH's in another skid steer thread.
And really, have not heard anyone speak badly about them.
I think it'll do me just fine.
As far as the tracks, that might be a summer no tracks winter/mud season tracks kinda thing. The youtube videos I've seen removal/installation doesn't look too bad, don't think you'd want to change them every week. We shall see.
But any suggestions you have running/maintaining them, I'll listen....you do a lot more hours than I will.
