Unfortunately I had to take a break

Thanks for sharing and yes the Good Lord is in control and has a purpose. It’s wonderful to see all the Christian believers on here and for the few who aren’t hey the rest of us are praying for you and wish you the very best.

Best wishes and prayers for your recovery, God bless all here regardless of their beliefs

I appreciate all the well wishes from the community. I am home and I have been feeling much better. I got outside today and started working on a tote rack for my shop. I have been trying to get it organized better so I can have better use of the space. I am one of those people that never throws things away because I might have a use for it some other time. My wife says I am a hoarder but I don’t have stuff piled up all over the place that I can’t even get in the door. I just have a lot of stuff that I need to organize a little bit better. So I am on the mend and hope to get busy soon, doctor said NO lifting over 5 pounds for a week. So trying to take it easy until Thursday morning. Then back at it again!

What was the reason that He kept my dad alive for 54 weeks after a massive stroke left him barely more than a vegetable? He didn't deserve that.
That was not necessarily God's doing. Ever hear of satan? Read about the trials of Job. Satan did every bad thing that he could do to job trying to shake his faith in God. Could be satan is at work here as well.

How true! Satan is alive and well and hard at work constantly. The evidence is all around us.
But if you go to the "right church", that makes you immune to Satan? Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt about the existence of God, I have a problem with some people's interpretation of the Bible and how they use it to justify their own actions or for simple answers to things that might require giving credit somewhere else. I don't want to single out the OP, but it seems to me that God's greatest gift to him was the intelligence to go to the doctor. My cousin's husband was just the opposite. He didn't insure his barn because God would take care of him. Well apparently God didn't give him brains enough to not use a welder in the barn because he caught it on fire and burned it to the ground with no insurance. I'd like to think that God's greatest gift to me was a few ounces of common sense, memory of other people's mistakes and how to apply them to different situations, and the curiosity to look for real answers.

I had a friend who had a near death experience and survived. He was the only person I ever knew who said he saw the gates of Hell. He would never describe what he saw, but when he told me about it, you could still see the terror in his eyes. All he said was, "I don't ever want to see that again". His health was poor and he had a real fear of going there.

I also suffer from "don't have a use for it, but too good to throw away" affliction. Good luck on your health journey.

There is no "right church" so to speak. Each branch has its own interpretations of God's word, and each has their own weaknesses as well as strengths. Some believe that there is no Hell. Some have taken that only 144,000 can enter the kingdom of Heaven. As a disenfranchised former catholic, I have looked at many other religions, done a lot of research, and the only conclusion I can reach is that there is no 1 "correct" religion. I also conclude that the real path to salvation is a good relationship with the creator and kindness toward your fellow man.

When a Catholic tries to tell me that I must belong that church for eternal salvation, I question the validity of that statement. The same with the Jewish faith. Or the Jehovah's Witnesses. Or any other version of religion. I also have a problem with those religions that have sworn to destroy people of other faiths than their own.

When I died in Jan 2020, after being resuscitated, my memory of the event was clear, just as when you awake from a dream, and I could remember that the experience was very positive and felt very good.

If you knew this guy and thought about anybody who might nnalert, he'd have been the first person to come to mind. I don't doubt what he said at all.
