I have an ignition miss , and am wanting to replace the plug wires. Pertronix instructions say to NOT use copper wires, and to use a supression wire.

Are there a good quality wire to be using that any of you guys recommend???

have you diagnosed it to be a wire ? how you come up with it being wires ? , switched them around ? have you checked the compression and the spark plugs ? , plus cap and rotor.

It's an intermittant ignition miss when I am running it. Plugs are newer, and have been replaced recently. Wires are older, and need replaced anyway. If I would fire it up in the dark, I would just about 100% promise you I would see a "lightning show" between the plug wires if I took an insulated stick and moved them around when running it. :) Main reason I am replacing the plug wires is the fact Pertronix frowns on using copper core wires with their "Flame Thrower" ignitions.(It can "blow" the ignition modules.) I wasnt thinking when I installed these wires originally.

UPDATE: I just installed a set of Pertronix suppression wires ( Bought the ones that fit an old Triumph car 4 cylinder. Fit VERY well.) The thing runs like I had the engine just rebuilt ! LOVE the Pertronix products! Thanks for all of the suggestions I will be ordering from the Brillman company in the near future as well. They have some awesome products as well. ;)

mike1972chev, I've been buying suppresison wires off of rock auto for years , there real cheap to , I get the ones for a Chevy big block motor , so I can get two sets of wires out off the set that I bought , I just get some extra boots and ends, don't waste your money from brillman, not saying there wires are no good , but ive been doing the rock auto thing for years with great success for my pertronix on all my tractors

Yea, the HUGE reason I changed like I have said is I needed a suppression wire with the Pertronix unit. I have a BEAUTIFUL , brand new set of woven cloth copper wires I cannot use on my tractor now I bought years ago! lol :) The Triumph car wires I bought off of Pertronix fit , and work great! (I also have a TON of BB Chevy wires, but they are OLD !!!
