MF 35 SN question and Radiator

I have a Massey Ferguson MF 35 Serial SGM237113.

1) The serial # plate says MF 35, the decals on the side say Massey Ferguson 35X.
It has a 4 cylinder gas engine. Everything I has seen says it should be diesel. So did someone later on slap an incorrect decal on this one?

2) I pulled the bonnet off to get access to the radiator for removal (it was FULL of junk). The only thing holding the radiator in place is the upper and lower hoses. A few videos I saw had bolts through the bottom, this one does not have any threads. There are no brackets for a support rod to go. Is there something I'm missing?

Thank you

Mike

I have a 1960 MF 35 Deluxe gas, serial number SMG 210610. The radiator has these holes/slots in the bottom to slide the heads of carriage bolts into.

Those bolts go through holes in the front bolster.

There are rubber pads between the radiator and bolster. There is also a tab at the top of the radiator that a brace hooks into. The other end of the brace goes to the engine.

Your serial number meaning as I understand it.

S = standard, utility
G = gasoline
M = dual clutch (two-stage)
237113 is a 1963 number I think.

The deluxe could be gas or diesel. The dual clutch was a deluxe option. Some deluxe units had better seats. Basically the deluxe had some features not on the plain MF 35.

I suspect you are correct about the tractor having the wrong decals. S indicates standard chassis, M means 2 stage clutch and G stands for gasoline engine. I read an article recently about the 35X. As I recall, it said the 35X was introduced in late 1962 with the Perkins diesel engine and Multi-Power. Your serial number is from 1963.

Mine looks like this. Two divots on the ends where I suspect the pads go and the top which has nothing.
