John deere 3010 diesel fresh rebuild issues.

I started my 3010 diesel for the fist time since a major overhaul...I have a couple of issues. The first is the oil pressure is really high. At idle speed its between 40-50 lbs. Is there a way to adjust this? Also getting a slight lope at idle. I re checked the timing but since the pump has a speed advance im just estimating where 4* is at. What should I set the low idle speed at?

For the oil pressure, is there a long hex nut on the tachometer drive housing below the injection pump? Removing the long hex nut, you will see a slot in the end of the threaded stud the long nut came off of. Use a flat screwdriver and the same wrench you removed the long nut with, loosen the narrow jam nut and back out the threaded stud to lower oil pressure. Did you have a book to overhaul this engine? With the marks in the injection pump lined up, where does the mark on the flywheel line up?

Yes i have a book. It stated if pump is updated with a speed advance to set static timing at 4° btdc. Which i had to estimate by counting teeth on my flywheel and measuring distance between tdc mark and 10° mark on my flywheel. My tractor had a lope at idle before tear down. I had my pump rebuilt. And injectors cleaned and tested. And the issue still exists.

A low idle speed makes the lope worse. What shape are the camshaft/oil pump drive gears in? If they are worn sharp, the extra gear lash in the injection pump drive WILL cause the lope at idle if those parts were not replaced. The last 4020 I repaired needed a new camshaft and oil pump drive shaft due to severe wear of the gear teeth.

What's the serial number of your tractor?
What is your pump model?
