For my money I'd buy a used original that's either rebuilt or rebuild it and be done with it. Original carbs work just fine for the last 70+ years until they are destroyed with human hands.

I did just put a Zenith 28 Chinese clone on my 49 KB3. Fired right up and zero adjustments to the carb. Did adjustments to the throttle linkage.

I sold 2 cores to a guy on Ebay "928nt_60". Can't speak for performance on his finished work but they look nice and he knew a whole lot about them. He has 100% feedback.

Hard to go on from here because you didn't say why it was none repairable.
Broken carb to manifold mounts? Cracked bowl?
