Oliver 77 oil filter tube

The tube on my 77 is apparently missing. I still have good oil pressure, but I was reading up on some forums about it and turns out that there’s a tube that’s supposed to be connected to the base. Come to think of it. Mine doesn’t have that anymore. It doesn’t look like it broke off, but it definitely doesn’t have it on it. What happens if I run it without it?

On my 77 that tube came off with a filter and I DIDN'T KNOW IT. Took out a bearing....
