Those choppers were an odd duck. They were a direct cut without a reel, then there was just a row divider that slid over them that didn't have gathering chains and the direct cut knives cut corn. I believe the pickup just went on over the knives too. They were a cut/throw without any other blower. Not many moving parts, that's for sure.

Curious, no mention of the 309 mounted planter. It's a shame that agriculture and farming have changed so much in the last 50 years so we've lost so many manufacturers.

Sorry I am limited to only 10 scans on each post. So I can't show every page on these larger brochures. That is why I have to do two parts

Thanks for posting. A very cool book to have whether a Ford fan or not. I have Oliver/Whites version from 1973 but my little brother tore alot of pages out and scribbled on a few mostly in the hay tool section. yes that was 50+ years ago.

who made their hay tools? I know at one point White made their corn planters and plows I believe (White also made plows for Case as well).

I can't say i've seen that combine. Was it a Claas? different set up for the engine beside the cab.
that double caster wheel rake is something I haven't seen.

Claas Made the Combines with FORD Engines. Oliver /White made the plows. New Idea made Rakes and Mower Conditioner. Balers at that time I think was made by Long. Plus the Wagons, Manure Spreaders, Rotary Cutters, Silo Blowers and maybe more were made by other short line companys

I missed out on a 640 many moons ago. Didn't know what it was or where to get parts for it at the time (the internet was still newfangled!). The local dealer had a low-houred one for around $2200, which was expensive, to me at least. It sat in their storage shed for 7 or 8 years before it sold & then the dealer had calls on it for another two after that. Lol!

Guess they gained a following at some point.
