Oil line for rocker arms/ 1955 Ford 600 134 CID

Hey any update on this? You won’t believe it but I have the EXACT same issue. I thought I had a bad wrist pin or a valve WAY out of adjustment but I pulled the valve cover off and the sound stopped. Put valve cover back on and it started again (nasty tick almost a knock) then I noticed my oiler tube moves up and down almost like it’s sitting on the cam or something. Just wondering if you fixed this and how you did it?
There is a rubber seal that goes on the bottom of the oil tube and it takes a bit of force to get it pushed into place. If you didn't put that seal on the tube before installing it or didn't get it pushed down all the way there is nothing holding it in place.

Just stumbled onto this thread. As mentioned above, both lines should have clips to hold them down. Mine was missing one on the short tube. I just made one from a piece of thick sheet metal that fits under the bolt and has a "fork" that presses down on the flared part of the tube.

There is also a "new" clip on later models that fits under the rear center bolt to keep the long line from bouncing up and down. Part # C3nn-6574-A, but it is 35.00 and you have to buy 5, so I made one of those also. Mine fits over the cover stud and presses down on the tube. Yellow in the photo.

Also, the "short" oil line at the front of the rocker shaft is often reinstalled incorrectly. As a result it hits the valve cover. Rather than being between the rockers, it is supposed to exit the rocker shaft then turn toward the rear OVER the #1 intake rocker, then down empty on the head. RED line in the photo.
