Howdy, need some help with the numbers on the engine by the starter on a 1958 880 diesel,
first line 1KA-100-E
second line 190320-K
third line 1278

these numbers are from Charles City
tractor serial number 63322-824
engine number 1066493
Lot number 380098

Ship Date April 2, 1958
Shipped to Frankfort, Illinois

any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Larry

With what exactly do you need help? Those are the casting/part numbers for the engine and appear to be correct for your 880. If I remember correctly the 1278 indicates the block was cast on January 27, 1958.

As for the engine number, check where the photo shows and see how it compares to your build card:

Thanks for help. I can't see the engine serial number, because it has charlyn steering. I'm also trying to get some history on this tractor, the guy I bought it from, bought a few years ago at an auction in Morris Illinois, I've had the tractor about a month or so. Thanks Larry

My dealer list says the dealer in Frankfort was called Paulding Bros.

Amos Angus, the numbers behind the starter explanation.
first line 1KA-100-E - Oliver part number.
second line 190320-K - Waukesha part number.
third line 1278 - engine block casting date, 1/27/1958, if I am reading that correctly. Two months seems to be a sort curing time for the block.
Thanks
